How can I get a copy of the iPod SDK?

Apple's site has a picture of an iPod running Bejewled. I'd like to
port some of my own software to it as well.

There is no iPod SDK. At least, not anything that's publicly available.
The iPod is a closed platform, except for those select few chosen by
Apple to develop games.

You can't. A small number of developers were selected to provide the
initial set of after-market software for the iPod. Even they operated
under very strict controls that allegedly had them flying nearly blind
until deployment time.

My belief is that they will eventually open it up but considering that
the iPod is much more of an appliance than a computing device I think
it's predictable that they're trying to maintain control over the
consistency of the user experience at this time.

The official word on this is:

(Carbon-dev mailing list, reposted to mac-games-dev)

Subsequent posts on the issue have mostly been about that address not
being valid.

Maybe they will have to, after someone (in a free country) figures it out.
