Compare iChat preference files? The AIM server may have
changed somehow?

Two identical Macs running 10.3.9.

Software Update says both are up-to-date.

NFS-mounting the other Mac's /Applications
and doing diff -rq shows that the two
iChat.app are identical.

find / -print | grep -il ichat "{}" \;
and comparing everything found shows no differences (except in transcripts).

Firewall scripts are identical. /etc/firewall.conf are identical.

Yet iChat logs onto AIM just like always on this Mac,
says "could not connect" (after a while) on the other.

Same behavior for all users. Started a few weeks ago.

tcpdump gives no clue either.

Identical length same brand Cat-5 cables to the same router.
No apparent difference in http, telnet, ssh, ftp

Hmmm. Got a new router not long ago. Not sure if that's when
this started, but ....
