Hi,

I have a G4 Quicksilver, 1.5 gig ram, and a Umax Scanner Astra 6400. I
installed Panther and the printer worked great using VueScan. Now all of
a sudden the firewire scanner is no longer being recognized. The cable is
good, I checked that out using another firewire device. The scanner light
is lit so I know the power supply is fine.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks so much.

Jennifer

Hi,
I am gonna guess that you used the System Profiler?
I found that I had better luck on everything using the install and archive
option; going the update route messed things up big-time.
