I can't give you advice about a specific program. However, if you look
on Version Tracker (versiontracker.com), they should have a list of
programs.

Get over to www.freemacware.com/, and browse the many categories of Mac
freeware (openSource). They all run natively (NO need to install
source files or an X app). LOTs of GREAT Software there!

It is worth noting that freeware != Open Source. While all open source is
freeware the opposite isn't true.

I like Budget. I've been using it for years. It is regularly updated
and improved. Doesn't cost the moon, US$30.00 and can be tried before
paying up. Here's a quote from the web site:

The trial has no definite expiration time; instead during the trial
various features are disabled or limited. Budget can record only 250
transactions total (25 transactions in any single envelope), and can
only balance each bank account 4 times if it is not purchased. Also when
Budget is purchased, the watermark on reports and printed checks will no
longer appear, transaction and report data can be exported in various
formats, the Find Transaction command can have unlimited number of
criteria, and additional backup options will be available.
