Post subject: attachments won't open
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>outlook>mac (more info?)

I am running 10.3.2 and Outlook 2001 (in classic mode) on
a PowerMac G4. When I try to open an attachement in
Outlook I receive the error "unable to find specified
application" I can drag the attachment to my desktop and
open it, or I can sometimes drag the attachment to the
Dock Icon of the application I want to open it.

I have already tried booting into OS 9.2.2 and changing
the file associations with File Exchange. I can open
attachements fine in 9.2.2. When I boot back into OS
10.3.2, I get the same error.

Is the classic enviroment in 10.3.2 not recognizing the
File Exchange settings for Classic apps?

I am only trying to open .tiffs in picture viewer.

Any help would be greatly appricated

Try changing the file associations with the OS9 Internet control panel
in the classic enviroment in 10.3.2.
Change the file association in Advanced/File mapping in the MacosX
set. Try to use an application that works in OS9 or a carbon one.
Thats works for me.
