Did anything ever come of Wine on Mac OS X?

I've found a few references to Crossover Office, but the price is more
than I want to pay for being able to expand Win32 self-expanding
archives.

Most self-expanding archives for Windows, in my experience anyway, are
common archive formats strapped onto the tail-end of a minimalist
extraction tool. I know that at least in some cases things like StuffIt
have been able to recognize and handle that as a simple variation on the
base archive format.

That's what sparked the question, actually: Last updated December 2006.
Looks like it went nowhere.

that's why I sent the link to the crossover site and the list of
compatible apps. Seems like that is being developed, so I would think it
would go back into the source, or maybe not.
