I have a near pathological hatred for anything Bill Gates makes. So I don't
use WMP. I have found VLC to be a great video player that plays nearly any
a/v file around. My advice would be to get this free player and learn to use
it.

Flip4Mac lets QT play a lot of file formats not native to QT, including WMV,
AVI and the like.

I did find one mpg format it would not play, but Mplayer handled it.

Check out versiontracker.com sometime.
