Post subject: VGA signal capture onto Mac OS9
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>video (more info?)

Hi,
I am trying to capture the display output from a piece of medical equipment.

Essentially I am trying to capture the VGA output of one computer on
another.

We have managed to put together a setup which gives us a very poor quality
video signal but I want to try to improve it.

At the moment the ultrasound is displayed on a standard monitor using a vga
connector.
To record the video the VGA signal is split and taken through a "Hyper
converter" to change it to svhs. This is then fed through a usb TV capture
device and recorded onto a desktop Mac running OS9.

As there are numerous conversion steps the signal is degraded and the
recorded film is very poor.

Does anyone know of a more elegant way of getting the signal capture from
VGA onto the Mac.

If this isn't the correct place to ask (and I suspect it may not be) please
redirect me.

Thank you

Alan
