I have a handy little external USB hard drive, which is formatted
FAT32, this is usable in Win2000, Linux (Mandrake2005) and OS9 - but I
can't get OS X to mount it. I've tried all the usual options in Disk
Utility, but no joy. I obviously want to keep it as FAT32, so I can
swap files easily.
Any thoughts anyone?

FAT16 and FAT32 devices should mount automatically. Are you attempting to
mount the drive when attached to an unpowered hub, such as the keyboard? I've
found that OS X will sometimes object, while OS 9 will not... but the drive
might not like being hooked to something that doesn't hand it enough power.
