I updated 2.4 from within the program to 2.5. When I started a full
copy to my USB drive the new update locked up twice-once at 67667 files
copied and a separate second attempt at 24667 files copied. For me all
is not well with the new Leopard upsate. BTW I am running OS X 10.4.11
on an Intel dual-core MacBook Pro 15.4".

I sent in a bug report with a zip file of system information.

Since you are not using Leopard, what did you hope to gain by upgrading
SuperDuper to 2.5?

It upgraded itself. Most program updates are supposed to be backward
compatible and eventually I will go to Leopard. Thats two reasons.

In a different thread, I discovered the new version handles inherited
ACLs and that Tiger had them (to a lesser extent than Leopard).

You know, I noticed that SuperDuper would seem to hang occasionally a
while back when I was using it. While there may be technical reasons for
it, I think that should definitely be considered a bug, because it can
fool someone into cancelling the operation prematurely.

Nothing very large, the largest would be about 4GB@ for several picture
folders. I went back to 2.4 and that was okay for the same files. Once
I had unchecked "repair Mac HD permissions" I didn'y have a beach ball
problem. Wait and see now for the time being and relearn patience.

When did 2.4 come out? I just fired up SuperDuper! and it was 2.1.4,
and was told 2.5 was available for update. I installed 2.1.4 in
February, 2007. I was never notified of 2.2, 2.3 or 2.4 but I am being
notified of 2.5.

No problems here on Tiger. Just did 2 full backups to extrnal USB and a
FW800 drive, both worked ok. Then confirmed will boot from both.
