I would look for the .log files and see if there is one associated with
either program. Maybe it will be illuminating.
I had the same problem here with iMovie and posted the need for help.
None was forthcoming. I think these are all semi-uniuqe.
I looked for a preferences file in application support but could find
nothing of note. In the end deleted the application then re-installed
it from the disk, then rebooted. It now works fine.
Prior to this I did a complete hard-disk analysis with TTool with no problems.
