Post subject: Using SCPreferences
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>programmer>misc (more info?)

Hello,

I recently started programming for Mac and I am quite puzzled with
SCPreferences thingy.

What I need to do is to create PPP connection, then create network
configuration set and
add this PPP connection to new set as a service.

I've read lots of documentation on this and I'm pretty sure I know what
keys to create.

Unfortunately, I am unable to operate SCPreferences even on the
simplest level.

Could anyone show me The Proper Way to create new preferences entity?
Creating an
unique child with SCPreferencesPathCreateUniqueChild and then adding to
it
"UserDefinedName" key?

I know how to open SCPreferences, lock it, apply&commit my changes.

PS: Is it just me, or MoreSCF is big chunk of horrible spaghetti mess?

best regards
