We have a Mac OS/X, ver. 10.4 and a Windows Vista Home Edition. The
Macintosh is the target computer. The Windows Vista is a local computer.
How do we Remote Control the Macintosh from Windows Vista? Is there a
software that we can install both on the Mac and the PC? Thank you.

It should be the same as controlling one Mac from another:

On the Mac to control, go into System Prefs -> Sharing -> Services and
turn on Apple Remote Desktop. Click Access Privileges and turn on the
VNC control option. Enter a good password.

Now you should be able to control the Mac with any VNC-compatible
client--I don't the name of any Windows ones but there's bound to be a
selection (if I'm controlling a VNC server from another Mac I use one
called Chicken of the VNC (!))

Hope this gets you in the right direction.

Cheers

Thanks for your prompt response and information. Can I install VNC software
on Windows Vista so that I can Remote Control to the Mac?

Thanks.

I haven't tried, but I'm sure there's VNC software for Windows and that
it can connect to a Mac.

I have used RealVNC, and some of the others, and it seems to work pretty well. The only issue is that there is a little lag in the screen redraw on occasion, depending on the throughput. If you go to download.com, or similar site, there are several free Windows VNC applications that will work and allow you to connect to the Apple Remote Desktop.
