After upgrading from Tiger to Leopard I am having a hard time posting
comments with MT-NewsWatcher 3.5.5. When I click on Post, I MT-NW
seems to post the message then hangs. I get the spinning beach ball
and either have to wait several minutes or use the OSX Force Quit to
clear the MT-NewsWatchard not responding message.

Please share your MT-NW settings with me as I must be the only person
with this issue.

You're not. There was a thread where a number of people reported this
exact problem when Leopard came out.

This happened to my husband on his G4 iBook after I installed Leopard
(an archive & install w/ preserved settings). I checked the settings
under the "Special" menu first and, incredibly, the allegedly preserved
settings mechanism had somehow screwed up his server settings using info
from my admistrator account on his Mac. Once I corrected that, he's
been able to post again w/o any problems. I definitely no longer trust
that "preserve settings" routine.

Thanks...hopefully we will see a 3.5.3 soon.

I emailed the author, Simon, a while back about a minor enhancement I wanted
to see. At the time he said that it was unlikely he would do any further
updates of any kind to MT-Newswatcher... I'd like to think he'd fix *this*
issue.. but I thought I should share what he told me at the time.

I've gone back to running a Windows-based reader in Parallels.. Kinda a
bummer.. I got used to MTNW.

Not that simple; I'm using 3.5.2 on an Intel Core 2 Duo with zero
problems.

I don't see anything special in the settings.

I have a Intel Power Mac, with Leopard and MTNW 3.5.2 and have had zero
problems with posting messages.

Usually slow posting is a server problem -- have you checked with other
Supernews users? Do they have private groups you can post a query to? Up
with which you will not put?
