Just had an interesting experience with an old Reaction Time stack that I
use for an Intro Psych lab.
I originally wrote it for 680x0 machines; ran it with no problem on G3 iMacs.
Now we just got a dozen G4 iMacs (probably the last ones built Wink running
OSX 1.3.5.
The stack seems to run fine, but reaction times to a sound stimulus
('boing') are about .12sec slow (I just us tick timing; no XCMDs). RT's
to visual stimuli at normal.
It's definitely the OS; not the machine.
I replicated the problem on a 450 mhz G4 tower also running OSX 1.3.5.
When I rebooted the machine into OS 9.2 the program timed properly.
The fix should be easy; just subtract .12sec from the auditory RT's.
Just passing on the observation, and wondering if anyone else had run into
anomolies running under Classic/OSX.
