Post subject: In Memoriam - does the server still exist?
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>games>adventure, others (more info?)

I picked up the above for a couple of quid the other day, having read the JA+
review, which was more than favourable. However, I have never been able
(either on my Mac, or PC) to create an account because it complains it cannot
communicate with the server or that I may not be connected to the Internet (I
have a permanent DSL connection, via a Netgear WG834T router). Both systems
are connected directly (via big standard Ethernet cables). Is there a setting
I need to alter, or is this game now a dud? I don't really mind, because I
didn't pay much for it, but it's such a novel premise that I would like to
see how it works.

How do I persuade it to allow me to create an account? I've had the game a
couple of weeks now and, obviously, I've never been successful in doing so.

Cheers folks!

Hate replying to my own posts, but I should have stated that I've turned off
all firewalls (both software and hardware) and it's not made the blindest bit
of difference.

They changed their server. Supposedly there's a patch that redirects the
game to the new server.

Thanks, Jenny, but it doesn't appear to do anything. I have downloaded both
(Mac and PC) the Mac patch is a file with a 'cxt' extension (with no
instructions as to what to do with it) and the PC version appears to quit
after selecting the language.

Oh well, never mind, it would appear I'm not meant to play this!

Thanks anyway,

Margo
