Hi,<br>
<br>
We have been experiencing this error for a few years with Entourage 2004 (Exchange 2000 & 2003) and I am a little disappointed for this error to reappear on my very first sync using Entourage 2008.<br>
<br>
Error while synching:<br>
<br>
"Mail could not be received at this time"<br>
The server for account "username" returned the error "Logon failure: unknown username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?"<br>
<br>
This usually occurs when there is a large amount of change in the mailbox - eg. user deletes 'lots' of messages at once.<br>
<br>
Needless to say the username/password is correct and re-entering the details returns the same error.<br>
<br>
The only 'fix' we've been able to find is to "reset cache" which of course means you have to download all content again and potentially run into the same issue.<br>
<br>
any ideas?<br>
<br>
cheers

Has anyone else got any information on this problem?

I have read that it is possibly spam/problem mail that could be causing it.

Does anyone know if an upgrade to 2008 will solve this?

Doubtful. It's usually a server error.

Is anyone running the IM software Adium? I have just found that this
invokes the error.

Try quiting Adium and restarting your machine, or waiting at least an
hour before restarting Entourage. I think it must be grabbing a port
or something and then releasing it after a length of time.

Anyway, I have disabled Adium to run at login and have not started and
received no mail error. When I start Adium, the trouble begins
again...
