Looking for your opinions on either leaving
my MacBook on all night or using a 3rd party like this to perform
maintenance.

http://personalpages.tds.net/~brian_hill/macjanitor.html

With my Windows unit I use a lot of maintenance software, but I'm trying
to get
away from this.

Thanks....

Regards.....

For running the regularly scheduled maintenance scripts, I think there's
a better alternative than a tool that runs it only when you say so.
Take a look at <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/26808>
and see what you think about Anacron. It's free, and it runs them at
the next opportunity after their scheduled time has been missed. This
is preferable, in my opinion, to simply running them whenever you think
of it.

Or try out macaroni. It's shareware, I believe, but it takes care of
all those cron jobs just fine.
