My *opinion* is that it is not a RAM issue. However, if you have more than
one RAM module, you *could* try removing one, and if that doesn't allow a
start, swapping that one for the removed one. If it is a RAM issue, it is
very unlikely to be two modules at once. So the above procedure should expose
the bad RAM.
My opinion is that it is either some type of severe software failure,
something that would require a PRAM reset. Or more likely, some type of
hardware failure, such as the logic board. Fortunately, since it is a newer
unit, it should still be under the factory warranty, and you can call Apple,
and have them talk you through whatever hoops that they want to go through,
fix-wise. For warrantied products this costs you nothing.
These gyrations will either fix it, or convince the tech that your machine is
broken enough that you need to send it in for a warranty repair.
