I do get riled at myself for having to request assistance knowing
full well that the solution is unquestionably going to be a simple one
When I'm typing a letter, or just typing something, somehow the entire
left side of the page just disappears. I then have to go down to the
bottom of the page, grab the blue bubble and drag it to the left -
sometimes twice because it jumps back to the right, again. How do I
prevent that from occurring for once and for all?
Thank you so much,

Edith,
I don't know for sure, but it might be that you have the default formatting
for new documents set to two column. The next time it does it, check the
layout settings and make sure the document isn't set for two column format.

Or your ruler is set well to the left of the normal margin, so your text
is placing itself outside the "expected" window.
Recommend you repost to microsoft.public.mac.word where the experts hang
out

Dear Sirs,
What's a ³Microsoft framework library²? And why won't it ³load² for me?
Maybe that's it. Please know that I wasn't riled at you.

Dame Edith,
Open a letter so that it is in plain sight. That done, move your cursor
up to View at the top of the screen and make certain that Formatting
Palette has a check mark before it. That done, find it on your screen
somewhere and click the triangle just before the word Document. That
done, you will see the words Left: and Right: referring to the Margins
(in) the letter that you just typed. Reduce one or both of those margin
size indicators to a smaller size.
If my guess is correct, that should still the mysterious wanderlust of
the left side of the letters you type.
The computer really does want to be your friend and do what you ask of
it. But when the margins of your typing don't leave enough room to do
as you ask, it doesn't understand. And, in its' attempt to please, it
moves everything over to make certain that you can read what you are
typing at that very moment.
Peace be with you,

I doubt if that is the issue, but from the MacOSHints website, I did find
some cures that other people used for this issue. Perhaps one will work for
you.
"I just fixed this "framework" problem by upgrading to 11.3.3"
"removed "Microsoft User Data" from the my documents folder and the problem
went away. This is following re-installation of Office which didn't solve the
issue."
" just rename the folder
I had the same error as well and tried uninstalls and reinstalls all day!
But now it is FIXED!
I simply took the advice in this thread but instead of deleting the
"Microsoft User Data" folder, I simply renamed it and then re-opened MS Word.
MS Word automatically created a new folder and the error msg is gone. Woohoo!
Whatever settings and files I needed, I just copied from the renamed folder!"
Good luck,

You could always delete the "normal" template file from the directory:
user/Documents/Microsoft User Data/ and see if that helps on a new document.

My Dear Sirs,
I am pleased to tell you that M.S. Word is now behaving exactly as
advertised. My grandson Nathan, he's 15 now, and should be a fine young
man at maturity, (if I allow him to live that long after some of his
pranks stopped for a visit yesterday. His confidence in his
computer skills is large.
However, after I eventually showed him all that you wrote for me,
he ciphered it well and, beaming triumphantly, announced that my
computer is now behaving as it should.
Thank you my dears. Thank you ever so much.
