LaserWriter Question

I just had the good fortune to acquire a LaserWriter 4/600 PS. Swell
printer, with just one annoying feature. Every time it's powered up it
insists on printing a test page. Since I use the printer fairly
infrequently, and turn my system off when I'm not using it, I end up
wasting a lot of paper and toner on these sheets.
Anyone here know a way to disable this function?

Apple Printer Utility in

ish-North_American/Macintosh/Printing/LaserWriter/> _should_ be able to turn
that off... if it will work in Classic, which I don't know.
