Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>printing (more info?)

I just had the good fortune to acquire a LaserWriter 4/600 PS. Swell
printer, with just one annoying feature. Every time it's powered up it
insists on printing a test page. Since I use the printer fairly
infrequently, and turn my system off when I'm not using it, I end up
wasting a lot of paper and toner on these sheets.
Anyone here know a way to disable this function?

Many thanks,
Bill

ish-North_American/Macintosh/Printing/LaserWriter/> _should_ be able to turn
that off... if it will work in Classic, which I don't know.

LW 360 and G5 Panther: works but one question - I just set up my trusty old LW 360 with my G5 DP with Panther via AsanteTalk. It works great, except for one missing item from the driver: I no longer (since OS 8.6) can choose B&W or Greyscale. That choice is absent. I always printed in BW, but..

Sharing USB Printer under OS X Question - My PowerMac has an Epson C42ux connected to it. I'm sharing this printer on my home network. Sometimes, I will print to it from my PowerBook also running Panther. Everything works well. Since I did install the Epson package for this printer, I noticed..

DEClaser 1152 and iMac question - Can someone please help me figure out how to use a ten year old postscript laser printer (a DEClaser 1152) with an iMac? The printer works fine with an old Quadra 610 (via the mini DIN-8 port and cable) and with also works with a Windows PC (via the..

inkjet cartridge question - Does anyone have experience or know about using G&G brand ink cartridges? I kinda don't like the idea of 3rd party cartridges, but I was gifted a bunch of these for my Epson 900. A wonderful, thoughtful gift (4-CMY & 4-K), but I'm afraid to use t...

HP mobile printers - question - I'm interested in the HP DeskJet 460 mobile printer. I have a few questions, though... - There is a model, the 460wf, which has wireless functionality included. HP's website says that the 460wf is 802.11b only (not 802.11g). Is this true? - There is...
