Hi,

I have tried the LOG function and it hasn't been working.
For instance
=LOG(7.61905,4)
returns 1.464805561 wheras on my calculator the result is 1.6614038.
We can simply check and see the the calculator is correct and the excel is not. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

anatkramer -

Why do you think your calculator is correct?

Have you checked to see if 4^1.464805561 is equal to 7.61905?

I stuck 4^1.464805561 into Equato and got 7.61905 back,
so I would suspect :=) that is the correct value.

FWIW, in Excel vX "service release 1", the output is 1.46480556147537

Your calculator may be fouling the "roundoff" in both directions.
