Hello, again Group!
I want to transfer the contents of my IMac to my G4. I have to use
an
ethernet cable, right? How do I set up both computers to do this.
I only have an IMac keyboard, but have access to an EMac one.
Which computer would this work on? Any help would be appreciated.
MikeyG.

Is the iMac a G5 or an Intel? When you say "contents" do you mean
applications, preferences, user data, or what?

If both computers have Firewire ports, a Firewire cable will transfer
stuff much, much faster than an Ethernet cable. It will also be easier
to set up. Just connect the cable to each machine. Then start up the
target computer (the one from which you want to copy data) and
immediately press and hold down the T key until the FireWire icon
appears. The hard disk of the target computer should become available to
the host computer and will likely appear on desktop. Then you can copy
data from the mounted drive.
