The installation seem to go fine, but now not even my original dvd
drive is roecognized by my computer.

what should I do?

Have you set one up as Master (M) and the other Slave(S)? There are
little jumpers on the back of the drive you need to move to change.
Your new drive would probably have come with the jumpers set to Master,
which will conflict with any other master drive on the same IDE cable
