Post subject: Export Addresses
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hypercard (more info?)

Good day all.

I've been perusing the archives here for leads and have hit several
brick walls.

One of my clients has several dozen hypercard stacks containing all her
addresses. The stacks were written for her by someone who is long gone
and I need to help her get the data into some other format. At this
point I don't much care what format it is as long as it will run
natively in OS 10.3+ (though Excel or Filemaker would be easiest on
me.)

The kicker is that the Hypercard my client is using is v.1.2.2 and I
can find no Import/Export Utility stacks or Help stacks or even any
good documentation on how to write scripts. (They may have existed at
one time, possibly 2 or 3 computers ago.) I've tried some of the
simpler scripts posted here and other places, but I get errors that
don't tell me what the problem is, just that there is one.

Is there a site that has a manual on it? Or a place to download
helpful stacks? (Ones that will work with version 1.2.2) I'm afraid
I'll have no hair left at the rate I'm going... <grin>

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Peggy

Dear Mark,

Thanks for the suggestion.
DIFfersifier worked like a champ.
(Even if it did take me a month to find the time to get to it. <grin>)

Thanks!
Peggy
