Is there any way to download a patch to a game, copy it onto a flash
drive, download it to a non-networked Macintosh, and have it work?
I've tried it twice, with two different games, and nothing happens. I
know the patch works OK, because it will launch on the original,
net-connected computer to which it's downloaded. But it won't work on
the Mac on which Europa Universalis is actually installed. Surely this
isn't the only computer left on the planet that isn't connected to the
web. When I try to launch the patch installer, nothing happens; no
error message, no crash, nothing.

Ahm ... huh. I'm not at all sure; I have the faint recollection
the immediate download then downloads a bigger file, which would be the
thing you really want, but I don't have it on this particular iMac.
