One way would be to copy the serial number from System Profiler to your
clipboard, head over to <http://support.apple.com/specs/> and paste the
serial number into the "Search Tech Specs" field and press Return on the
keyboard. This will tell you the exact model of the computer. Once you
have that, head over to
<http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powerbook_g4>, and find that
model in the list. The resulting web page will tell you the introduction
date as well as the discontinuation date for that model.

Or were you looking for something more specific than that?

Just curious: Why do you want to know the age?

Copy your machine's serial number from System Profiler. With the serial
number on the clipboard, go to this site
<http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html>
and paste the number into the blank.

More about your Mac than you hope to need.

The short form, if all you care about is the age, is that the 3rd
character of the serial number is the last digit of the year in which
the machine was assembled, and the 4-5th digits indicate the week within
the year.
