When I enter an email address in an Entourage 2008 email message, I'm
confronted with a number of 'suggestions'--many of which are old and/or
incorrect addresses. In windows I and click and hold on the address I want to
delete and at the same time, click on delete. The next time, that suggestion
doesn't reappear. Can this be done on the Mac?
Ideally, I would like to open the file where auto-fill email addresses are
stored and eliminate many of them.
Thanks!

This is the Most Recently Used addresses list. See
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/glossary/mru.html>.

I read the URL above and I'm a bit unclear. To remove one, what do I
do? I don't want to mark it as junk, as some are valid emails. But I
don't want them as suggestions either unless I've used them recently.
Entourage 08 imported my email, so I'm not sure how it picked the
recently used ones. But I would love to remove a few. >> Stay informed about: Deleting autofill email addresses in Entourage |

If it's an address you will want to use, add it to your Address Book. They
are sorted intelligently, organized by the frequency of messaging for each
contact, with the most-used contacts showing up on top.
Why are they bothering you? If the contact is coming up before one you
really want, try assigning a Nickname to the contact and use it. Nicknames
are only seen in your Address Book so if you want to name them fat head go
right ahead.
Contacts like Bob that's a common name can be frustrating. Eventually the
ones you use the most will start being the ones that the Most Recently Used
list will show up quickly. Another case where nicknames work.
Tip: be sure to assign a category to all of your Address Book contacts.
Makes using them in rules so much easier. See this example:
Use Categories instead of entering individual addresses in a Rule

All I want for Christmas 2008 is a KISS (keep it simple stupid) method
of getting rid of unwanted addresses in my entourage. Surely Apple or
Microsoft can organize something like that without having to go though
volumes and volumes of literature to get there!

A single link to a website with one page of explanation is hardly
"volumes and volumes of literature".

Still, the point is there should be a simple way to remove individual
entries in the MRU. >> Stay informed about: Deleting autofill email addresses in Entourage |

This may help, but I think it's wrong that I have to add a junk mailer
to my address book and then remove him to get him out of my MRU.
Also, I did find the junk email and it marked it as junk and it still
was in my MRU.
