Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>apps, others (more info?)

Running OS X 10.4.11. on a 1.25ghz dp G4 and the Azureus 3.0.4.0, I
have been stricken by the 100% CPU usage scenario... A little
reading around tells me that I should check to be sure that I have the
most current Java installed. I downloaded J2SE 5.0 Release 4 (PPC):
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/j2se50release4ppc.html
and prepared to install, only to receive the "ALERT: This volume
contains a newer version of Java."

Now what? Did the OS X 10.4.11 updater install some new Java stuff
that isn't compatible? Is it adviseable to downgrade to the above
mentioned Java? And if I do, does anyone know what the side effects
might be?

I appreciate any comments / insights with respect to my situation. I'm
pretty good at following directions (I think), but I'm not the most
savvy software guru/geek...

Thanks again,
