I have developed an applescript which takes data from one excel sheet
to another and formats it correctly. The program then closes the
original file and deletes it from the desktop.

Prior to the deletion from the desktop excel waits for the user to
press a button as it displays the message "you have placed a large
amount of data on the clipboard ...." I want the applescript to
automatically reply "No". Is there a way for the applescript to answer
this question automatically without waiting for the users response.

Regards,

Martin

Why not copy something trivial to the clipboard (perhaps the contents of
cell A1) just before you quit Excel ?

Simon.
