Hi Ben!

When you attempt to log in you should be able to use your Windows user
short name and password. Be sure you don't have an account on your Mac
with the same short name or it will take precedence.

On Mac OS X 10.4.x you can verify your Mac is bound to AD before logging
in by clicking the computer name in the login window. Repeatedly
clicking will show you different pieces of useful information such as IP
address, computer serial number and network accounts connectivity. You
should see a green dot instead of a red dot if your Mac is ready to use
network accounts.

If everything here looks fine but you're still unable to log in, you may
have your "Active Directory Domain" field in the Directory Access field
incorrectly entered. Typically, the Forest domain is the same as the AD
domain, but not always. The AD domain may need a more specific name. If
your Forest Domain is something like "domain.com", you may need
something like "subdomain.domain.com" for your AD domain.

Hope this helps! bill
